Our client organizes focused and high end trade shows and a series of conferences and workshops for the East and Central African market with a major focus in the Textile and Fashion industry. They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Team Lead to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating revenue through the sale of exhibition space and sponsorship packages across our portfolio of events. This role requires a proactive individual who is passionate about sales, building client relationships, and exceeding targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell exhibition space and sponsorship packages for assigned events via telephone, Email, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Develop new business opportunities by identifying and engaging with potential clients across relevant industries.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients to ensure long-term partnerships and repeat business.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Achieve and exceed individual and team sales targets and KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activity in the company system.
  • Attend industry events, exhibitions, and meetings to promote the company and expand the client network.
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and event teams to ensure successful delivery of exhibitions.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • At least of 3 Years’ Experience in the exhibitions or events industry desirable
  • Proven track record of sales success, ideally in exhibitions, events, media, or B2B, B2G environments.
  • Good presentation skills, e.g. using PowerPoint, Word, and similar applications
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Lead or managed a sales team
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain strong relationships.
  • Highly motivated, target-driven, and able to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Hub Spot).
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools
  • Creativity & problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical mind-set
  • Strong Strategic thinking
  • Must be detail oriented and have analytical skills
  • Ability to work with deadlines
  • A team player, with stress tolerance
