General Purpose
Our client, a leading player in the FMCG food manufacturing sector, is seeking to recruit a highly experienced, results oriented, and performance-driven Sales Manager to oversee sales operations across the Rift Valley and Western Regions. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth, increasing market share, strengthening distributor partnerships, leading high performing sales teams, and ensuring exceptional trade execution across the assigned regions.

Location: Rift Valley & Western Regions| Gross Salary: Ksh. 150,000 - 200,000

Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure effective outlet execution in line with Picture of Success (QDVPPP) standards.
• Drive implementation of promotional activities and trade marketing initiatives.
• Monitor competitor activities and provide timely market intelligence.
• Maintain excellent merchandising and execution standards across all territories.
• Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with retail partners.
• Develop, review, and implement effective route plans for Trade Development Representatives (TDRs).
• Drive market expansion through new outlet acquisition and product listings.
• Deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets.
• Optimize deployment of sales resources for maximum return on investment.
• Monitor distributor route coverage and address market gaps.
• Manage sell-in, sell-out, and sales order execution while minimizing stock-outs.
• Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to accelerate growth.
• Ensure distributors achieve agreed purchase plans and business targets.
• Monitor distributor performance, financial health, and profitability.
• Ensure optimal stock levels across all distributor locations.
• Provide guidance on inventory planning and stock optimization to minimize losses and maximize product availability.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Area Sales Team Leaders, Trade Development Representatives (TDRs), and Distributor Sales Representatives (DSRs).
• Identify capability gaps and implement effective training and development programs.
• Conduct induction, performance coaching, and continuous team development initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications
• Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in regional sales management within the FMCG food industry.
• Proven experience managing distributors, sales teams, and general trade operations across the Rift Valley and Western Regions.
• Strong understanding of route-to-market strategies, distributor management, and trade execution.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Valid driving licence is mandatory.
