On behalf of our client, a leading retail provider of skincare, hair care, and body care products, we are seeking a Category Developer. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and developing strategies to enhance the performance of core product categories. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to drive commercial success in a fast-paced retail environment
Academic & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Experience
- Proven experience in category management, product development, or a related with at least 3 Years’ experience
Technical Skills

Responsibilities & Requirements
1. Market & Financial Analysis
- Conduct weekly performance reviews for brands by analyzing sales, pricing, and margins.
- Track brand revenues against monthly and quarterly targets.
- Analyze profitability, lost revenue from out-of-stock (OOS) items, and delayed partner payments.
- Reconcile purchase orders against partner invoices to ensure timely payments.
2. Category Strategy & Growth
- Develop and grow key strategic categories, including Cosmetics (Make-up) and Body Care (Baby Care).
- Implement strategies to expand Tier 2 and Tier 3 brand segments.
- Monitor brand performance and flag underperforming SKUs early for corrective action
3. Product Launch & Operations
- Oversee the onboarding process for new brands, from negotiation through launch and initial sales tracking.
- Manage end-to-end category planning and post-launch performance analysis.
- Assess customer requests and competitor activity to identify sourcing gaps in Hair care, Skincare, and other beauty segments.
4. Promotions & Collaboration
- Plan and execute promotions and brand launches in collaboration with marketing and merchandising teams.
- Develop strategies aligned with stock levels and the brand calendar to ensure product availability.
- Enhance the visibility of new and underperforming brands to stimulate consumer interest.
- Foster relationships with operations and customer experience teams to ensure seamless strategy execution.
4. Reporting
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
- Leverage data analytics tools to offer actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
