Job Description: Showroom Sales Executive
Job Purpose: Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our esteemed client is seeking a driven and personable Showroom Sales Executive.
The Showroom Sales Executive, will help clients choose furniture products that suit their needs, style, and budget while contributing to the showroom’s sales targets.
The Showroom Sales Executive will maintain outstanding customer service, ensure the showroom looks presentable, and manage sales‐related tasks from customer engagement through order processing and delivery coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome customers to the showroom; understand their needs, preferences, and budget to make suitable recommendations.
- Demonstrate product features, finishes, dimensions, and care instructions to help customers make informed purchase decisions.
- Meet or exceed individual sales targets by upselling and cross-selling complementary furniture and accessories.
- Maintain strong product knowledge, including current furniture styles, materials, finishes, warranties, and company promotions.
- Manage showroom displays: keep furniture clean, well arranged, and appealing to customers; assist with visual merchandising.
- Process sales transactions, prepare quotations, sales orders, invoices, and coordinate delivery schedules.
- Follow up with leads, maintain relationships with existing customers, and encourage referrals.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of customer information, sales data, and stock availability.
- Assist with stock management: monitor inventory levels, inform the manager of low stock or reorder needs, and organize incoming shipments.
- Maintain showroom appearance, cleanliness, and overall presentation.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing/operations/logistics teams to support promotions, events, and showroom operations.
- Provide feedback from customers to help the business improve products and service.
- Occasionally assist with setting up special displays, promotional materials, or event-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in sales, retail, business, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in retail sales, ideally in furniture or home goods industry.
- Proven ability to work independently and hit sales targets.
- Well-groomed with a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
- Ability to understand product details (dimensions, materials, etc.) and explain them clearly to customers.
- Good negotiation and closing skills.
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel / Word), and possibly CRM tools.
- Physical ability to assist with moving or arranging furniture, assisting with deliveries or displays as needed.
