Sports Coach (Diamond Junior School)
Location: South B, off Mombasa road
Reports to: Principal

Job Summary: Responsible for coaching and training all learners (from Kindergarten through Grade 9) across a variety of ball games, including but not limited to football, basketball, netball, volleyball, pickleball tennis, and athletics. Additionally, the coach will oversee all field events, and ensure a safe and supportive environment for all learners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and deliver structured training sessions across multiple sports, including but not limited to football, basketball, netball, volleyball, pickleball tennis, athletics, and other ball games.
- Teach learners the fundamental skills, rules, and strategies of each sport, with age-appropriate methods and practices.
- Plan and conduct age-appropriate P.E lessons in line with the curriculum and learning objectives.
- Foster a love for sports and physical fitness, in a supportive and positive environment.
- Oversee and organize all field events, ensuring they are engaging and well-coordinated.
- Collaborate with the school management to schedule sports activities, manage resources, and plan events such as sports days and inter school competitions.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee sports meets and fixtures for various sports throughout the school year.
- Develop a comprehensive schedule for all fixtures and ensure timely communication with parents, students, and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage the setup and takedown of sports equipment for fixtures, ensuring the field and other facilities are prepared and safe.
- Maintain attendance records, track student participation, and report on the progress and achievements of sports teams.
- Monitor learner progress, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure a safe environment for all learners, adhering to school policies and child safeguarding practices.
- Develop safety protocols for sports activities and field events.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor of Education (Physical Education and sports), Sports Science or related field.
- Proven experience in sports coaching, ideally with young children or in a school setting.
- TSC registered.
- Knowledge and proficiency in coaching multiple sports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with learners, parents and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills..
- Creative and energetic.
- Strong moral values and discipline.
