Technical Sales Representative-(Hardware Sales)

Job Summary

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for business development through establishing and maintaining relationships with new and current clients so as to grow market share. The incumbent will be maintain extensive knowledge of the Company’s products' parts, functions, and processes and assist to close sales

Job Description/Requirements

1. Generate high-quality sales leads, follow up after initial contact, secure and renew orders, negotiate
prices, complete sales, and arrange deliveries;
2. Develop solid, long-term relationships with prospects and maintain existing customer’s relationship
within the commercial construction industry to grow profitable sales;
3. Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, quotations, and tender documents explaining
products or services to existing and prospective customers;
4. Research, develop, and modify products to meet customers' technical requirements and needs;
5. Recommend improved materials to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase
6. Identify areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to upper
Helping customers who have problems with installed products and recommending improved or
upgraded materials;
Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support;
9. Training other members of the sales team on the technical aspects of the company's products and
10. Grow client base through pursuing prospects and building on existing networks
11. Conduct regular field visits at outlets and construction sites to identify potential distributors and
12. Emphasize product features that will meet customers’ needs, and exhibit the capabilities and
limitations of their products;
13. Conduct price negotiations with customers and close on sales;
14. Provide technical support by fully understanding customer needs and requirements and availing
detailed information on the products offered and the suitability for their project; 
15. Prepare and submit detailed proposals, quotations and tender documents within required timelines so
as to win business for the organization
16. Keep abreast of emerging markets trends through conducting market research and analysis to develop
recommendations for implementation within the organization;
Academic and Professional Qualifications and experience required
Diploma in Sales and Marketing or Diploma in relevant field
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in civil engineering or in building & construction management will be an
added advantage
At least five (5) years experience in a construction environment with a proven track record in meeting
sales targets;
Key Skills and Competencies
Good knowledge of the building materials products and services and the market;
Good commercial acumen and entrepreneurial spirit;
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
Well organized individual with the ability to be autonomous;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Must have high standards of integrity, ethics and confidentiality
Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multi-task, prioritize, manage, and follow projects
through to completion.
