JOB TITLE: WAITERS/ WAITRESSES

NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME

INDUSTRY: HOSPITALITY

SALARY: KSHS. 25,000

JOB LOCATION: NAIROBI


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service:

  • Greet and seat customers promptly and courteously.
  • Present menus and answer questions regarding food and beverage offerings.
  • Make recommendations based on customer preferences and menu knowledge.


Order Management:

  • Take accurate food and beverage orders.
  • Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Ensure timely delivery of orders to customers.


Food & Beverage Service:

  • Serve food and beverages professionally, ensuring proper presentation.
  • Monitor tables to anticipate customer needs.
  • Handle special requests and dietary requirements with care.


Payment Handling:

  • Present bills and process payments accurately.
  • Handle cash and card transactions securely and efficiently.


Cleanliness & Hygiene:

  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, and service areas.
  • Follow health and safety regulations in line with hospitality standards.


Team Collaboration:

  • Assist colleagues during busy periods.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and management staff.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve service quality.


Problem Solving:

  • Handle customer complaints professionally, aiming for prompt resolution.
  • Report operational issues to supervisors.


KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma in hospitality management or culinary arts
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a high-end or fine dining restaurant
  • Excellent knowledge of continental cuisine and alcoholic beverages
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
  • Well-groomed with a courteous and professional attitude
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts
  • Flexible to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays
