Job summary
The Waitress cum Barista is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service by managing floor tables and preparing professional-grade coffee and beverages. This role requires a balance of speed, multitasking, and a deep knowledge of both the food menu and espresso-based drinks.
Job descriptions & requirements
Table & Floor Service (Waitress Duties)
Greet customers warmly and manage table seating.
Present menus, provide detailed descriptions of specials, and take accurate food and drink orders.
Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure timely delivery of meals.
Manage "split-shift" transitions efficiently between lunch and dinner service.
Process payments accurately using the POS system.
Maintain records of active shift hours (excluding scheduled breaks).
Handle staff meal logging and coordinate with management on billing.
Participate in the staff-led tip collection and distribution process.
Perform daily "opening" and "closing" duties for both the dining area and the coffee station.
Ensure all company property (uniforms, equipment, keys) is handled with care.
Barista Excellence (Beverage Preparation)
Operate espresso machines and grinders to prepare various coffee drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, etc.).
Maintain high standards of milk texturing and latte art.
Monitor coffee bean quality and adjust grind settings as needed throughout the day.
Ensure the bar area remains clean, sanitized, and fully stocked with milk, syrups, and beans.
