DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Waste Collection Operations

·       Assist the waste collection team with daily collection, loading, and unloading of waste.

·       Support the Waste Truck Driver during assigned collection routes.

·       Assist with the safe movement and handling of waste at designated collection points.

·       Ensure waste is handled and transported safely and responsibly.

·       Report missed collections, access challenges, or operational issues to the supervisor.

Cleaning & Janitorial Services

·       Maintain cleanliness and hygiene around waste collection points and assigned areas.

·       Perform general cleaning, janitorial, and sanitation duties as required.

·       Sweep, clean, disinfect, and maintain designated work areas.

·       Clean and maintain waste collection equipment and work areas.

·       Ensure collection areas are left clean after waste has been removed.

 Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

·       Properly use and care for all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

·       Follow all health, safety, hygiene, and environmental procedures.

·       Report hazards, spillages, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.

·       Handle waste and cleaning materials in accordance with established safety procedures.

·       Maintain good personal hygiene and professional conduct at all times.

 Teamwork & Operational Support

·       Work effectively with drivers, supervisors, cleaners, and other team members.

·       Follow instructions from the Waste Truck Driver and supervisors.

·       Support the team in completing daily collection schedules efficiently.

·       Assist with other duties related to waste management, cleaning, and sanitation as assigned.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

·       Certificate or Diploma in Cleaning, Waste Management, Environmental Management, or a related field.

·       Minimum 3 years' experience in waste collection, janitorial services, cleaning, sanitations, facilities management or a similar role.

·       Practical experience handling waste and cleaning equipment

·       Knowledge of basic health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.

·       Experience working in a commercial, residential, institutional, or industrial environment is an added advantage.
