DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate preparation of accurate vehicle repair estimates
· Support the service advisor team with on-site advice to customers on issues of concern to ensure customers are assured of quality service within agreeable timelines;
· Coordinate Warranty/Policy cases to ensure that they are handled appropriately.
· Provide Leadership and support to other technicians in problem analysis and resolution
· Monitor productivity and efficiency, follow up and sign off job cards and ensure quality work.
· Ensure Service Advisors receives frequent updates on vehicle repair progress as well as any variations in repair estimates, for prompt communication to the customer.
· Report all incidents and near misses to the Workshop Manager and HR office and lead the incidence investigation process.
· Ensure that all special tools, Shared Hand tools, workshop manuals and workshop equipment are maintained in good working condition, cleaned and kept in a safe storage area for overnight stay or when not in use.
· Review work in progress and new bookings every morning to ensure that manpower is allocated appropriately.
· Train and instruct employees in the respective shop.
· Follow up on sublet repairs for urgent delivery and ensure that quality sublet work has been performed.
· Ensure compliance with Internal Control Procedures & Workplace Organization (5S)
· Advice customers through service advisors on the reparability of their vehicles, as well as time required without compromising on the company policy, to ensure minimal complaints from customers;
· Respond to and handle customers’ complaints promptly to avert misunderstandings and the risk of losing customers;
· Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
· Diploma in Automotive Engineering
· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry
· At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team-leadership role, preferably within a dealership/workshop environment
· Proven experience in workshop operations, vehicle diagnostics, repair planning, and quality control
· Strong customer-service and complaint-resolution skills.
