Accountant

Salary: KES 65,000 Monthly Gross

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

o Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

o Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.

2. Financial Controls:

o Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.

o Regularly review and update financial control systems to adapt to changing regulatory requirements and business needs.

3. Financial Analysis:

o Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

o Prepare financial models and scenarios to support strategic planning and decision-making.

4. Financial Reporting:

o Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and summaries for management and stakeholders.

o Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all financial reports.

5. Compliance:

o Monitor and ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.

o Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.

6. Accounting:

o Oversee and manage general ledger functions, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of journal entries.

o Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.

7. Auditing:

o Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of financial controls and procedures.

o Prepare audit documentation and address audit findings and recommendations.

8. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

o Apply strong analytical skills to assess financial data and identify potential issues or areas for improvement.

o Develop and implement solutions to complex financial problems, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.

Qualifications:

1. Academic Qualification:

o Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.

o CPA (K) certification is required.

2. Skills and Competencies:

o Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

o Strong knowledge of financial controls, accounting principles, and auditing practices.

o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

o Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

o Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

3. Work Experience:

o Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an accounting role, with a focus on financial management and reporting.
