Key Roles & Responsibilities
Supervise, plan, assign, and monitor the work of subordinates in an automotive repair shop.
•Oversee the maintenance, servicing, overhaul, and repair of a wide range of automotive and heavy-duty vehicles.
•Troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to determine necessary repairs.
•Ensure compliance with safety regulations, hazardous substance laws, and emergency response procedures.
•Manage shop procedures, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in vehicle maintenance.
•Train, mentor, and motivate employees to improve skills and productivity.
•Maintain accurate vehicle, personnel, and operational records, and generate reports on downtime, parts research,
and invoicing processing
•Prepare cost estimates for work orders and accident repairs.
•Requisition necessary parts, supplies, and materials while monitoring inventory levels.
•Supervise the use of diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and specialized automotive equipment.
Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, warranty documents, and diagnostic materials.
•Ensure proper execution of preventive maintenance programs, including certification programs.
•Respond promptly to emergency calls and make critical maintenance-related decisions.
•Conduct and document safety meetings and training on hazardous material handling, disposal, and compliance with
MSDS requirements.
•Maintain effective communication with supervisors, subordinates, and relevant departmental personnel.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
•Ensure full compliance with the safety goals, objectives, and procedures towards achieving zero LTI.
Education & Professional
Qualification:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Automotive
Engineering (preferred).
Professional Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in the maintenance and repair of
automotive, transit, or heavy-duty vehicles.
