Reports to: Plant Manager / Operations Manager
Role Purpose
To ensure maximum equipment reliability and optimal machine performance through effective maintenance strategies, timely repair interventions, and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
Ensure all manufacturing machines and equipment are well maintained, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
Conduct routine inspections to detect potential mechanical issues early.
2. Maintenance Strategy Development
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize machine uptime and reduce unplanned breakdowns.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records, logs, service histories, and compliance documentation.
4. Machine Performance Monitoring
Monitor machine behavior, efficiency, and output quality; troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that impact tissue quality, productivity, and production rates.
5. Technical Support
Provide technical support during machine startups, shutdowns, and grade or product changes.
6. Continuous Improvement
Implement continuous improvement programs aimed at enhancing safety, productivity, operational efficiency, and energy optimization.
Identify root causes of failures and recommend process improvements.
7. Safety & Risk Management
Conduct mechanical risk assessments and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce hazards and improve workplace safety.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be highly knowledgeable and hands-on with manufacturing machinery (e.g., tissue paper machines, converters, packaging equipment, or similar).
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience in Mechanical engineer and Technician
