Role Overview

The CEO will provide visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to Nairobi Pesa City. This role requires a forward-thinking leader capable of driving growth, fostering innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering world-class financial services. The CEO will be responsible for positioning the company as a market leader in the digital finance space while building trust and credibility with regulators, partners, investors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
  • Define and execute the company’s long-term vision, growth strategy, and operational roadmap.
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities in digital finance, fintech innovation, and financial marketplaces.
• Business Development & Partnerships:
  • Forge strategic alliances with banks, fintechs, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Expand the ecosystem through partnerships, vendor onboarding, and customer acquisition.
• Regulatory & Compliance Oversight:
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements for financial services.
  • Maintain transparent relationships with regulatory authorities and industry bodies.
• Financial Performance:
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Drive innovative monetization strategies within the digital financial ecosystem.
• Team Leadership & Talent Management:
  • Build and lead a high-performing executive team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as the public face of Nairobi Pesa City, representing the company to investors, media, and industry forums.
  • Communicate the company’s vision, strategy, and performance effectively to the board and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as a CEO, Managing Director, or senior executive in banking, fintech, or digital financial services.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, digital payments, and financial technology ecosystems.
• Demonstrated experience managing regulated financial institutions or platforms.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.
