Position Title: Credit Origination Manager

Position Scope: The role holder is responsible for analysis of credit data and financial information of individuals or businesses applying for credit facility/facilities to determine the credit worthiness.
He/She will also be responsible for the general credit management of the division/sector assigned, maintenance of turnaround time and communication to ensure exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, appraise and make appropriate recommendations on all corporate and business credit proposals to support good quality asset growth.
- Responsible for end to end credit appraisal process such as preparing all tools like CRB, risk-grade, in-depth analysis of all risks, quality presentation, Credit Quest Management among others.
- Assess & ensure all credit applications comply with the credit policy and procedures and are processed within the agreed service level agreement.
- Proactively drives review process of existing facilities ensuring consistence, thorough and timely evaluation of all existing facilities.
- Track facilities applications through appraisal and post approval process to ensure timely decision and disbursement.
- Participate in credit products review and development, marketing and cross-selling of credit products.
- Timely communication with the sales team and customers on credit decisions, investigate and respond to queries concerning their facilities.
- Work with Relationship Managers in coordinating of early alert meetings, scheduling site visits, review pending legal charge and valuation processes.
- Builds relationship with Relationship managers to improve quality of business proposals, turnaround time on credit evaluations and shares joint credit responsibility for business written.
- Liaise with Credit approvers for credit appraisals and other credit issues to ensure quick turnaround on facilities.
- Ensure proper maintenance of credit files and audit readiness at all times.
- Attend watch list portfolio calls and ensuring timely identification of accounts to be put in watch list as the bank’s guidelines.
- Develop and provide credit related reports on a periodical/adhoc manner as may be required by Management.
- Attend to matters within the Division relating to credit and ensure timely closure of issues.
- Support in training of credit staff and sales groups in relation to credit procedures and processes.
- Adhere and maintain high levels of compliance to policies, Bank processes, statutory guidelines, Shariah guidelines (where applicable) and other related operating standards.
- Promptly escalate anomalies to procedure or any suspicious activities as per the laid down procedures.
- Adhere to the Division’s service charter and ensure exceptional customer experience
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Personal Attributes:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics or related fields from a recognized institution.
- Certification in Banking is an added advantage.
- Credit Management Professional Certification.
- Five (5) year’s work experience with at least three (3) years in credit analysis function or in similar role from a reputable organization.
- Business acumen/commercial awareness
- Teamwork; capable of sharing expertise on credit related matters to cross functional teams
- Collaboration; forms business partnerships that help drive the Division’s business growth agenda.
- Multi-tasking; able to manage several concurrent key client assignments and prioritise demands
- Innovation, flexibility and adaptability; ability to keep pace with latest technology and trends in addition to new customer expectations.
- Excellent communication skills; articulate in communicating to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical; capable of managing numerous information sources and providing data analysis to relevant stakeholders
- Experience in relationship management
- Strong work ethic, exercise of due diligence & confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning & organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and speed of execution
