To foster a positive work environment by managing employee relations issues, supporting fair and consistent application of HR policies, and ensuring adherence to Employment and Labor laws. The role focuses on conflict resolution, disciplinary management, employee engagement, and providing guidance to management and staff on ER matters.

Key responsibilities
a) Employee Relations and Conflict Management
· Serve as the primary contact for employee grievances, complaints, and workplace conflicts.
· Support managers in handling disciplinary cases, ensuring fairness and compliance with internal policies and local labor laws.
· Provide recommendations to managers following investigations into misconduct, disputes, or policy violations.
· Mediate disputes between employees and/or supervisors to foster constructive resolution.
b) Policy Interpretation and Compliance
· Interpret and communicate HR policies, procedures, and labor legislation to employees and managers.
· Ensure company practices align with statutory requirements, including employment laws, safety standards, and labor regulations where applicable.
· Support HR in fostering consistent application of policies across all departments.
c) Employee Engagement and Culture
· Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention.
· Participate in planning and implementing internal communication strategies and engagement activities.
· Participate in Team Member Forums to promote a positive workplace culture.
· Monitor workplace climate and help design interventions that promote healthy employee relations and a positive culture.
d) Case Management and Reporting
· Maintain accurate documentation on grievance and disciplinary cases.
· Track recurring issues and support proactive solutions to prevent future conflicts

Educational Requirements
University Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Admin, or related field
Related Job Experience/Qualifications
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in employee/labor relations, HR generalist or similar roles
Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices
Experience in handling investigations and disciplinary processes is an added advantage
Technical skills
Proficiency in HRIS
Working knowledge of Kenyan Employment and labor laws
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Exposure with HR dashboards
Behavioural skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
