JOB TITLE: FARM SUPERVISOR
NATURE OF JOB: FULL TIME

SALARY: KSHS. 18,000 PLUS ACCOMMODATION AND PARTIAL MEALS
JOB LOCATION: KIRINYAGA


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dairy & Poultry Management
  • Supervise feeding, watering, and general care of dairy cows and poultry. 
  • Monitor animal health and report any illness or unusual behavior promptly. 
  • Oversee milking routines, egg collection, and cleanliness of animal housing areas. 

Horticultural Farm Operations
  • Supervise planting, irrigation, weeding, spraying, and harvesting activities. 
  • Monitor crop growth and ensure proper care of horticultural produce. 
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the farm fields. 

Farm Supervision & Maintenance
  • Coordinate and supervise farm workers on daily assigned duties. 
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of farm tools and equipment. 
  • Monitor general farm cleanliness, safety, and orderliness. 

Records & Produce Management
  • Maintain basic records for milk production, egg collection, feeds, and farm supplies. 
  • Monitor stock levels for feeds, fertilizers, and other farm inputs. 
  • Assist in sourcing markets and buyers for farm produce.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
  • Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Health, Agribusiness, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mixed farming, particularly dairy farming, poultry farming, and horticulture.
  • Practical knowledge of livestock and crop management practices.
  • Ability to supervise farm workers and coordinate multiple farm activities.
  • Basic understanding of farm record keeping and budgeting.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Honest, disciplined, and hardworking individual.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
