Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Oversee day-to-day garage operations across all service bays.
- Ensure efficient scheduling and timely completion of repairs.
- Monitor workshop productivity and turnaround times.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
Customer Experience
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience from vehicle check-in to collection.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure transparency in repair approvals and quotations.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and motivate technicians and support staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
Parts & Inventory
- Manage procurement of spare parts and consumables.
- Develop reliable supplier relationships, including imported parts.
- Ensure accurate inventory control and stock management.
Business Development
- Drive growth of the drive-in service business.
- Identify opportunities to increase workshop utilization and revenue.
- Build relationships with fleet and corporate customers.
Financial Performance
- Monitor labour efficiency, gross margins, and operational costs.
- Manage workshop budgets and resource allocation.
- Ensure profitability while maintaining service quality.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Promote safe work practices across the team.
Technology & Reporting
- Utilize digital tools to manage workshop operations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare regular operational and performance reports for management.
QualificationsRequired
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- Experience managing an automotive workshop, service centre, or garage.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational ability.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Computer literacy and comfort using digital systems.
Preferred
- Experience working in a technology-enabled service environment.
- Knowledge of inventory and procurement management.
- Experience managing fleet maintenance operations.
- Understanding of computerized diagnostics and modern automotive repair processes.
