Our client, a well-established organisation in the renewable energy sector, is seeking to appoint an accomplished and commercially driven Head – Solar Division to lead the growth and overall performance of its Solar business.
This is an opportunity for a senior professional who combines technical knowledge, commercial acumen and strong leadership capability and is ready to take ownership of business growth, customer relationships, project delivery and the development of a high-performing Solar Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development by generating new solar opportunities and building a strong C&I sales pipeline
- Lead the sales process from enquiry and site assessment through proposal, negotiation and deal closure
- Develop profitable solutions across Solar PV, hybrid systems, BESS, EPC and PPA offerings
- Build strong business relationships with customers, consultants, developers, EPC partners and suppliers
- Oversee project delivery from procurement and installation through testing, commissioning and customer handover
- Lead after-sales service and develop opportunities for O&M contracts, system expansion and repeat business
- Monitor commercial performance including sales, profitability, invoicing, collections and project progress
- Lead and develop the Solar Division team to achieve agreed business and operational targets
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 8–10 years’ relevant experience in Solar PV, Renewable Energy, Electrical Power or Energy Solutions.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial, commercial or senior technical role.
- Proven experience in C&I solar sales and project execution.
- Demonstrated experience managing the complete solar project lifecycle, from enquiry through project delivery and after-sales service.
- Strong experience in sales, negotiation, project management and customer relationship management.
- Experience within the Kenyan or East African renewable-energy market will be an advantage.
Technical & Managerial Skills
- Strong knowledge of Solar PV systems, energy analysis, electrical systems and hybrid solutions.
- Good understanding of BESS, solar monitoring and energy management systems.
- Strong commercial, costing and financial awareness in project development.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and project execution skills.
- Customer-focused, commercially driven and accountable.
