Position Title: HR Officer
Reports to: Head of Human Resource Operations– Talent Grid Africa
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (with travel to client sites as needed)
Contract Type: Full-time
Role Overview
The HR Officer is the key liaison between Talent Grid Africa and its clients. The role ensures delivery of high-
quality HR consulting services, compliance support, and people operations across multiple client
organizations in diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for assigned client organizations.
Maintain strong partnerships with client leadership (Directors, Line Managers etc.)
Conduct regular check-ins and review meetings to assess HR needs, track deliverables, and provide
strategic input.
Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and timely resolution of issues.
Develop and implement HR workplans aligned with client business objectives.
Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws (Employment Act, NSSF, SHIF, WIBA, NITA, etc.) and
client-specific policies.
Manage contracts (new hires, renewals, conversions, and exits) and ensure proper documentation.
Oversee statutory remittances (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, Tier II Pension schemes such as Britam).
Conduct HR audits, compliance reviews, and prepare reports with recommendations.
Lead end-to-end recruitment for client roles: job description design, job adverts, candidate
shortlisting, interviews, and selection.
Oversee onboarding and orientation programs, including buddy systems and compliance with
organizational culture.
Coordinate induction materials, staff handbooks, and HR policy dissemination.
Support clients in setting up performance management systems (goal setting, reviews, appraisals).
Handle employee relations matters (disciplinary cases, grievances, mutual separation agreements,
etc.) in line with policy and law.
Advise client management on handling sensitive staff matters professionally and legally.
Coach line managers on HR best practices.
Support payroll alignment across clients, including salary structures, overtime, allowances, and
deductions.
Liaise with finance teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries and benefits.
Benchmark compensation and provide salary review proposals where required.
Maintain organized HR records, trackers, and dashboards (contracts, compliance, recruitment,
performance).
Dradt letters, memos, notices, and communication templates for clients.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, or related field.
At least 2-3 years’ experience in HR, with exposure to HR consulting.
In-depth knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR compliance frameworks.
Proven experience in HR operations, recruitment, and employee relations.
Must be a member of IHRM- Institutional of Human Resources Management.
CHRP qualifications will be an added advantage.
Salary: 40-45k
