Human Resource Assistant/Officer

 

Job Purpose

The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible providing daily pro-active support to APA/Apollo entities as well as providing information &advice to managers and staff on various Human Resources issues.

Specific responsibilities:

·         Providing service directly to staff making inquiries related to HR processes.

·         Handle routine situations and provides basic interpretation of HR policy and practices

·         Coordinates and facilitates employee feedback system designed to foster positive employee relations.

·         Coordinating the recruitment of various positions by reviewing applications, scheduling interviews & interviewing candidate for selected positions.

·         Conduct and administer orientation for new staff ensuring the completion of appropriate paperwork.

·         Coordinates the Performance Management system

·         Promotes employee utilization of HRIS by ensuring smooth administration and training for users which will include departmental and organization wide users;

·         Consulting with line managers changes in work settings and other employee-related aspects

·         Assist in organizing employee welfare services such as sports, Christmas party, team building

·         Maintain human resource data bases to ensure correct recording of all staff and employment related information as required.

·         Assist in the management of disciplinary and grievance resolution

·         Provision of reports on a monthly and quarterly basis

 

Minimum requirements

·         Degree in social sciences and Diploma in HRM (ongoing or completed)

·         Bachelor of Commerce- Human Resource Option (HRM Diploma optional)

·         1-2  Years experience

·          Experience and knowledge of general insurance business an added advantage

·         Have excellent interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills.
