The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited is incorporated in Kenya under the Company Act and is also licensed to do the business of banking under the Banking Act. The Bank was initially registered under the Co-operative Societies Act at the point of founding in . This status was retained up to and until June 27th when the Bank’s Special General Meeting resolved to incorporate under the Companies Act with a view to complying with the requirements for listing on the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE)

Tasks and Responsibilities

Develop strategy & road map for improving the financial performance of the Microfinance department Manage the Micro-finance department Portfolio (Deposit & Credit) Conduct Research and Development Drive the department team to ensure that customers’ needs are met Build long-lasting relationships with the group members Create a culture of high performance among staff within the department Ensure that the department’s procedures are followed to mitigate risks. Coordinate Credit Appraisal & Deposit Mobilization at a department level Coordinate business development initiatives at the department level

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a Business-Related Degree from a recognized university CPA K or Credit Management Certification Membership in a professional body is desirable A minimum of 5 years experience in micro-credit in a busy financial institution (three years must be at supervisory or management level) Sound knowledge of Sacco laws and regulations A person of integrity, a team player with effective communication skills Sound judgment and decision-making ability on lending across all sectors Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and team management skills Working knowledge in Product Development and Market Research
