ABOUT THE COMPANY
We collect your waste like every other waste collector, but, instead of taking it to a landfill, we take it to our own sites, where we sort the waste, and then recycle 95% either ourselves or through our local partners. This represents one of the highest recycling rates in the world.
JOB SUMMARY
Qualifications & ExperienceDiploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field. KCSE and KCPE Grade B in KCSE and KCPE is a must3–5 years’ experience in industrial operations, plant operations, or machine operations.Experience supervising or coordinating technical teams is an added advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own daily, weekly, and monthly production targets across all technical operationsDevelop and execute production schedules optimizing resource allocation (labor, equipment, materials)Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase throughputLead root-cause analysis for production failures and implement preventive solutionsTechnical & Equipment ManagementOversee maintenance strategy (preventive, predictive, corrective) for all production assetsEnsure machinery operates at optimal efficiency; approve major repair/replacement decisionsCollaborate with engineering on equipment upgrades, automation, and process optimizationMaintain technical documentation, SOPs, and equipment lifecycle recordsTeam Leadership & Workforce ManagementLead, mentor, and develop technical supervisors and team leads (600+ employee experience preferred)Manage full workforce lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planningOversee shift structures, overtime allocation, and casual/contract labor integrationBuild high-performance culture through KPIs, incentives, and structured feedbackCompliance, Safety & QualityEnsure strict adherence to DOSH, NITA, and industry-specific regulatory standardsChair safety committee; investigate incidents and enforce corrective actionsMaintain ISO/quality certifications and audit readinessOversee environmental compliance and waste management protocols (where applicable)Cost Control & EfficiencyManage operational budgets, cost-per-unit metrics, and capital expenditure proposalsOptimize labour costs through productivity gains and strategic workforce planningNegotiate with vendors and service providers for maintenance contracts and spare partsDigital Transformation & ReportingChampion production management system implementationsAnalyze production data to inform strategic decisions, report to executive leadershipStandardize reporting frameworks for visibility across shifts and departments
