Job Summary

The role of Advertising Team Leader reports to the publisher and Country Manager. Duties includes actively prospecting for new clients, making 25 plus telephone calls per day to generate new prospects and to persuade them to partner with Corporate Africa projects and services; overseeing four other sales executives proposals, acting as second voice for them, closing their deals and motivating them. Also visiting conferences and exhibitions to target new prospects and partners

Key Responsibilities

•             Prospect and build a sales pipeline for the sales team via outbound calling and email communication

•             Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up, internal tools, FT content and general market research

•             Research and contact potential budget holders/decision-makers

•             Pre-qualify leads and book appointments/call backs for the sales team

•             Assign qualified leads/opportunities to the sales team for further development and closure

•             Follow up to gather feedback and agree next steps

•             Contact advertisers to gather testimonials and evidence to support sales proposals

•             Act as a bridge between management and sales.

•             Record conversations with prospects on the CRM system for reporting purposes

•             Weekly reporting, including successful calls made and challenges faced


Required Skills / Experience

•             Fluency in written and spoken English is essential

•             Experience in lead nurturing, lead generation and appointment setting

•             Articulate and tactful communication skills, particularly on the phone

•             Proactivity and readiness to learn and develop understanding of Corporate Africa services and value proposition.

•             Effective internet research skills

•             Self-motivated and driven with strong desire to succeed

•             Organized and ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment

•             Ability to work accurately, with strong attention to detail

•             Display initiative in undertaking all aspects of the role

•             Good team player with a willingness to collaborate

•             Be a willing contributor to the department, offering ideas and suggestions
