Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain effective financial controls, and support management in financial decision-making.
The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background combined with proficiency in financial and accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
● Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
● Manage cash flow monitoring and financial transactions.
● Ensure timely and accurate statutory tax and regulatory compliance.
● Prepare budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, and management reports.
● Monitor financial controls and improve accounting processes and systems.
● Coordinate internal and external audits.
● Review financial records for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
● Monitor expenditure and investigate significant variances.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
● Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
● Work closely with management and other departments on financial matters.
● Utilize accounting software, ERP systems, Excel, and other digital tools to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
● Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of accounting and financial management systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
● Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance.
● CPA or ACCA qualification is required.
● At least 5–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting role.
● A strong IT background is preferred, not mandatory.
● Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems
● Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory compliance requirements.
● Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
● Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
