Job summary
SIF is seeking a committed and compassionate Social Worker to support the implementation of the Education and Well-being of the Child Project under implementation in the Nairobi informal settlements.

The role focuses on working closely with vulnerable households and orphaned children to ensure their protection, development, and overall well-being through structured social work interventions, case management, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct social support to orphaned and vulnerable children within the program
- Conduct needs assessments and develop individualized support plans
- Monitor children’s well-being through home visits, school follow-ups, and regular reporting
- Support child registration, data entry, and maintenance of case files
- Coordinate psychosocial support services for children and families
- Facilitate referrals to relevant services (health, education, protection, etc.)
- Engage families and communities to promote positive child development practices
- Participate in baseline/endline assessments and project evaluations
- Organize educational, social, and recreational activities for children
- Ensure compliance with SIF policies, including Child Safeguarding standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable communities
- Certification in counseling or case management is an added advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Good understanding of local community context
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
