Job Title: Tour & Travel ConsultantLocation: Nairobi, Kenya Regional Scope: Across East and Southern Africa, OutboundIndustry: Hospitality, Travel & TourismEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Operations / General ManagerAbout the Hiring OrganizationA well-established, customer-centric travel and hospitality brand headquartered in Nairobi is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Tour & Travel Consultant to join its growing team.The organization specializes in designing personalized travel experiences across East and Southern Africa — including luxury safaris, game drives, beach holidays, corporate travel, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions), group travel, and curated holiday packages.Renowned for professionalism, reliability, and service excellence, the company serves both individual and corporate clients, delivering seamless, detail-oriented travel solutions backed by strong regional partnerships and deep destination expertise.Role OverviewThe Tour & Travel Consultant will be responsible for designing, promoting, and executing customized travel solutions for both inbound and outbound clients.This role combines sales, client relationship management, itinerary planning, and operational coordination. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver exceptional customer experiences while achieving revenue, conversion, and service performance targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Client Engagement & SalesActively generate and convert leads through cold calls, referrals, networking events, digital platforms, and corporate outreach.Identify client needs and propose tailored travel solutions aligned with budgets and preferences.Prepare and present professional quotations and proposals.Build and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive communication and after-sales support.Upsell and cross-sell value-added services such as premium upgrades, excursions, insurance, and bespoke experiences.Maintain a healthy and active sales pipeline.Achieve agreed revenue, conversion, and performance targets.Occasionally accompany travel groups to oversee logistics and ensure service excellence.2. Tour Operations & Booking CoordinationDesign detailed, accurate, and compelling travel itineraries for leisure, corporate, MICE, and group clients.Prepare quotations, invoices, confirmations, and all required travel documentation.Coordinate bookings with airlines, hotels, transport providers, and tour operators.Manage inbound and outbound travel arrangements across East Africa, Southern Africa, and selected international destinations.Ensure compliance with visa requirements, travel regulations, and insurance policies.Handle customer inquiries, amendments, and complaints professionally and promptly.Maintain accurate booking records and CRM data.3. Product Development & Marketing SupportResearch new destinations, experiences, and travel trends to enhance product offerings.Develop competitive travel packages across leisure, corporate, and MICE segments.Contribute to pricing strategies to ensure profitability and market competitiveness.Support execution of digital and offline marketing campaigns.Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, blogs, and promotional materials.Conduct competitor analysis and provide recommendations to improve positioning and market share.4. Performance & ReportingTrack and report on sales performance, bookings, conversion rates, and revenue.Submit periodic reports on pipeline status and customer feedback.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and client satisfaction.Maintain strong documentation and reporting discipline aligned with internal processes.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in travel consulting, tour operations, or a similar role.Proven track record in sales performance, revenue generation, and client account management.Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of East African and Southern African tourism destinations.Experience handling MICE, group travel, and customized itinerary planning.Proficiency in travel booking systems (e.g., Amadeus, Travelport) and CRM tools.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Strong organizational and multitasking ability.Highly customer-focused with strong attention to detail.Proactive, target-driven, and solution-oriented.Fluency in English (additional languages are an advantage).Strong digital literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, online research tools).What We OfferCompetitive salary with performance-based incentives.Opportunity to design and deliver unique travel experiences across the region.Professional growth within a reputable and expanding travel brand.Collaborative and supportive work environment.Exposure to regional and international travel markets.Application DetailsApplication Deadline: Rolling basis (applications reviewed as received).How to Apply: Submit your CV and a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience, key achievements, and motivation for the role.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
