Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior carpenters in constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures, such as doors, windows, cabinets, frameworks, floors, and staircases.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
- Assemble and join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
- Ensure accuracy and quality of work by inspecting completed projects and making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by adhering to company safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain carpentry tools, equipment, and machinery properly.
- Collaborate with team members and other trades to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and transport of materials and equipment to and from job sites.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or relevant training is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and assembly.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks involving lifting, standing, and bending for extended periods.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions efficiently.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
