We are seeking a Residential Construction Coordinator to manage relationships between homeowners and construction contractors. This role is responsible for helping customers plan their home projects, coordinating contractors, and making sure work in homes is completed safely, on time, on budget, and to a high quality standard. Job Description/Requirements
Contractor Management
- Source, vet, and onboard residential contractors and subcontractors (e.g., carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters).
- Assign jobs and work orders with clear scope, drawings (if available), and expectations.
- Coordinate contractor schedules to minimize disruption to homeowners.
- Monitor quality of work, safety practices, and cleanliness on site.
- Address and resolve issues or conflicts with contractors promptly.
- Review and verify contractor quotes, change orders, and invoices.
Homeowner / Customer Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for homeowners throughout their project.
- Help customers define the scope of work (repairs, remodels, additions, etc.).
- Explain the construction process in simple, non-technical language.
- Provide regular updates on project status, timelines, and any delays or changes.
- Handle questions, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Guide homeowners through decisions on finishes, options, and upgrades when needed.
Project Coordination
- Create and maintain project timelines for residential jobs.
- Schedule site visits, measurements, inspections, and final walkthroughs.
- Coordinate permits, inspections, and required documentation with local authorities (if applicable).
- Track progress against milestones and adjust schedules as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with residential building codes and company standards.
- Maintain complete project files: contracts, photos, plans, approvals, and change orders.
Financial & Administrative
- Assist with preparing estimates and proposals for homeowners.
- Track labor, materials, and subcontractor costs versus budget.
- Flag cost overruns or scope changes early and communicate them to the customer.
- Maintain accurate records in project management or CRM software.
- Prepare basic reports on job status, contractor performance, and customer satisfaction.
