JOB LOCATION:MLOLONGO

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate heavy commercial vehicles to transport goods across short and long distances.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated destinations, adhering to route schedules.
• Load and offload cargo, ensuring that all goods are handled with care and accounted for.
• Maintain a clean driving record and comply with all traffic laws and regulations.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate mileage and fuel records, and report trip data to the Logistics Supervisor.
• Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and in good operating condition at all times.
• Assist with routing and delivery planning in collaboration with dispatch and logistics teams.
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers, suppliers, and the public.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Valid Kenyan Driving License (Class BCE) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a heavy commercial driver, preferably in:
• Supermarket goods distribution or Construction materials supply and logistics
• Familiarity with Kenyan road networks, traffic patterns, and major delivery routes
• Ability to drive long distances with minimal supervision
• Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to follow instructions, keep delivery records, and communicate effectively
• Must be punctual, dependable, and trustworthy, with a strong sense of responsibility
