ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

Role Purpose

To implement preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules at the plant for all electrical systems on machines, equipment and plant facilities for maximum efficiency and life.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

General Technical

• Preventive maintenance of machines as per laid down instructions and procedures to ensure a smooth running
• Trouble shooting electrical equipment and machine failures by inspection and testing and prescribing
• corrective action and reinstating it back to its working condition.
• Logging details of work performed on data records to enable further action, planning for next service and storage as history.
• Inspection of machines operations and recording of data such as pressures, temperatures etc to ascertain smooth operation or service requirements.
• To ensure timely maintenance checks on capacitor banks, Generator, power distribution panels, factory lighting systems and emergency lights.

Maintenance Costs Management

• Ensure accurate stock management of spares and consumables.
• Initiating purchase requisition for electrical machine spare parts for maintenance 
• Monitor utility usage on weekly basis & control any deviation.

Safety Health and Environment (SHE) & Food Safety

• Ensure timely closure of maintenance related SHE actions.
• Report all Quality ad food safety issues that maybe encountered during daily operations
• Ensure external contractors are properly inducted on safety, health and environment matters.

Skills & Experience

BSc Electrical Engineering power option or (Diploma Electrical, Instrumentation Engineering)

3 years working experience in maintenance of Industrial Machinery and equipment

A good understanding knowledge in machines trouble shooting, Condition-based and preventive

maintenance.
