The position of the head teacher exist to offer overall leadership to the school becoming the driving force to the vision and the mission of the institution. The position requires a strategic approach that mobilizes all the resources both human and otherwise to create synergy that provides all possibilities and opportunity for realization of a mode

Job Description/Requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

Ethos and culture:

Shall build a culture of openness that enables expression of every child’s unique personality, talents and abilities for optimization, a space in which all can freely engage to stimulate the best out of every one and a learning community that confronts the future without fear.  

Leadership:

Shall offer a hands on leadership experience that involves all players and builds synergy directed to the realization of the institutions purpose.

Curriculum implementation:

Will build a pedagogical approach buttressed on precise curriculum interpretation and implementation to meet the curriculum goals and objectives at every level of assessment.

Staffing:

Actively lead in handpicking the best talent for hiring that assures realization of the school overarching vision and mandate as expressed

 

 

Discipline:

Build and environment where the highest standards of discipline bloom naturally without the use of any form of coercion or intimidation of learners. Focus also on the staff discipline where personal responsibility underpins the core values of the school.

Compliance and liaison:

Ensure that the school is fully compliant with all ministerial requirements and guidelines and enforce the code of ethics and standards spelt out by all relevant regulators. Create a conducive and interactive liaison with all state actors in the education space.

Networks and partnerships:

Create networks and partnerships in all levels that propel the institution giving it a reputation of a global player in the global educational arena.

Reports:

Prepare monthly sub reports and a termly report on the institution’s progress in all key success factors of the school.

Budgeting and cost control:

Shall collect and collate all requisitions from both academic and co-curricular departments as well as from the offices under supervision to come up with the school termly budgets. Shall follow through the utilization of the budgets to ensure frugal utilization.

Technology and emerging trends in education:

Will ensure full adoption of technology in the delivery of content to the furthest possible extent, employing the already available ICT infrastructure and recommending more opportunities of the same. Shall capture the top of the industry trends and adopt commensurately to deliver modern learning experience.  

Visibility programs and activities:

Working with the team to ensure the school is a shining star not only nationally but in a global scale through programs, activities and event that brand the school as a player in the international arena in the field of holistic education. 

 

 

Academic policies:

Shall implement the existing policies as well as audit all academic policy gaps that need to be addressed and proceed to address the same through policy intervention benchmarking with industry best practices.

Parents and other stakeholder’s management:

Will ensure continuous stakeholder engagement to produce total synergy between the teachers, parents, students and other actors by resolving all inefficiencies that hinder maximum benefits that can be derived from such a system.

Transport coordination:

Shall ensure that the school is able to deliver a reliable and efficient transport system by coordinating all the players to achieve this objective. All repair and maintenance issues of the vehicles will be managed under operations.

Child safety and protection:

Will engage all stakeholders, policies and governance that assures child safety at all times and in all spheres of our operations. Will ensure the school in a beacon of child friendliness and stands out in availing spaces for self-expression where all feel safe regardless of any barrier.
