The Purpose of the Job
The Quality Control Officer - Cards is the final critical checkpoint in our personalization process. This role is responsible for inspecting personalized banking cards to ensure strict compliance with customer specifications, internal quality benchmarks, and stringent regulatory requirements before they are released for fulfilment and distribution. As the ultimate gatekeeper, you guarantee that only flawless, fully functional cards reach banking clients and their customers, directly safeguarding the reputation of our financial partners.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough visual and functional inspections of personalized cards to detect any aesthetic flaws or operational defects, ensuring every card meets our premium standards.
  • Rigorously verify personalization accuracy; including cardholder name, Primary Account Number (PAN), expiry date, and CVV; as well as overall print quality against precise customer specification sheets.
  • Accurately identify, document, and categorize defects and non-conformities, maintaining detailed logs to facilitate robust tracking and root-cause analysis.
  • Escalate quality concerns and recurring defects promptly to the relevant production and engineering teams, ensuring immediate corrective and preventive actions are initiated.
  • Maintain meticulous, accurate, and complete quality inspection records and logs, ensuring full traceability and readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure full compliance with all customer requirements, international regulatory standards, and industry security protocols (including PCI DSS) throughout the inspection process.
  • Actively support internal quality audits and investigations by providing comprehensive inspection data, process insights, and historical defect trends.
  • Monitor and verify strict adherence to approved production and personalization procedures at every stage of the manufacturing process.
  • Verify product traceability and ensure all accompanying documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed in line with quality management systems.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing ideas to enhance quality standards, optimize processes, and drive down defect rates.
  • Support defect trend analysis by compiling data and preparing detailed quality performance reports for management review.
  • Champion a culture of quality excellence across all production operations, fostering a &;right first time; philosophy among cross-functional teams.

Person Specification
Educational & Professional Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelors Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline, such as Quality Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in quality control, quality assurance, or inspection roles, ideally within a production, manufacturing, or banking services environment. Experience with card personalization, secure document inspection, or high-security printing is a distinct advantage.
