- Conduct comprehensive quality inspections at all designated production stages, from raw material intake and chip embedding to final personalization and packaging.
- Perform rigorous visual inspections for physical flaws (scratches, chipping, misalignment) and functional verification using specialized readers to confirm electrical integrity and data encoding.
- Accurately identify, document, and report quality defects and non-conformities, categorizing them for effective tracking and root-cause analysis.
- Ensure strict compliance with all approved quality procedures, work instructions, and industry standards (such as GSM Association specifications) at every production step.
- Maintain meticulous, accurate, and complete quality inspection records and logs, ensuring full traceability and readiness for internal and external regulatory audits.
- Proactively investigate quality issues, collaborating with production engineers to recommend and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Actively support formal root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to drive down defect rates and enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Verify that all finished SIM cards conform precisely to customer-specific artwork, encoding requirements, and packaging specifications.
- Actively participate in internal quality audits and periodic quality reviews, providing inspection data and process insights to strengthen the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Continuously monitor process consistency and product conformity, flagging any deviations from standard operating parameters to maintain stability.
- Escalate critical or recurring quality issues promptly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and relevant teams to prevent the release of non-conforming products.
- Champion quality awareness across all production operations, fostering a culture of & right first time; and empowering operators to take ownership of quality.
- Education: A Bachelors Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline, such as Quality Management, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in quality control, quality assurance, or inspection roles, ideally within a high-tech production, electronics manufacturing, or telecommunications services environment. Experience with SIM card personalization, chip module embedding, or smart card manufacturing is a distinct advantage.
- Impeccable Attention to Detail: You can spot microscopic errors in chip placement, contact pad alignment, or plastic moulding that others would miss.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify the root causes of technical defects and suggest practical, data-driven solutions.
- Integrity & Objectivity: An unbiased approach to quality assessment, with a strong sense of personal accountability for every product you clear.
- Patience & Methodical Approach: Ability to perform delicate, repetitive inspections without compromising accuracy or concentration over long shifts.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication for reporting findings, documenting issues, and liaising effectively with production and engineering teams.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) for record keeping, data entry, and generating comprehensive quality reports.
- Inspection Tools: Familiarity with basic measuring tools (e.g., callipers, micrometres), magnifying equipment, ESD-safe handling practices, and SIM/reader testing devices is a significant added advantage.
- Quality orientation, strict process adherence, proactive problem-solving, excellent time management, and collaborative teamwork.
