Job Summary

Efficiently plan and execute production, ensuring adherence to weekly/monthly/daily plans for achieving sales targets through effective machine and manpower utilization while maintaining set quality standards. Achieve departmental KPIs, provide efficient reporting to management, monitor and analyze production targets (Key Performance Indicators), and proactively initiate corrective actions. Ensure zero downtime due to plant breakdown, promoting continuous operational excellence.

Qualification & Other Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Equivalent(Food Science/Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical engineering/Polymer)

• Specialized training or certification in operating and maintaining Krones machinery.

• Previous experience working with Krones machines or similar packaging and bottling equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery.

• Knowledge of electrical systems and control panels, with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.

• Familiarity with automation systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in Krones machines.

• Understanding of the production processes involved in bottling and packaging, especially in the beverage industry.

• Knowledge of quality control measures and processes to ensure products meet specified standards.

• Understanding of safety regulations and adherence to safety protocols in an industrial setting.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during machine operation.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, report issues, and follow instructions.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, especially in coordination with other machine operators and maintenance personnel.

• Willingness to adapt to changing production demands and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Thoroughness and attention to detail to ensure precision in machine operation and maintenance.

• Proactive approach to machine upkeep, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Familiarity with computer systems used for machine control and monitoring.

• For supervisory or managerial roles, leadership skills may be required to oversee a team of operators and ensure smooth plant operations.

• Willingness to stay updated on new technologies and advancements in the field of machinery used in the plant.


Roles & Responsibilities

• Efficiently plan and execute production, ensuring adherence to weekly/monthly/daily plans for achieving sales targets through effective machine and manpower utilization while maintaining set quality standards. Achieve departmental KPIs, provide efficient reporting to management, monitor and analyze production targets (Key Performance Indicators), and proactively initiate corrective actions. Ensure zero downtime due to plant breakdown, promoting continuous operational excellence.

• Lead the commissioning of Beverage Production lines and oversee Utilities operations.

• Prepare and implement SOPs for machinery and process recipes of all SKUs.

• Collaborate with Team Leader Beverage and Plastics for standardizing product recipe development.

• Plan workflow, manage priorities, and meet daily production targets while minimizing downtime.

• Monitor and manage production activities, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and take corrective actions on deviations.

• Manage production activities for maximum line capacity utilization, developing new procedures for improved accuracy.

• Monitor and analyze production targets (Key Performance Indicators), taking corrective actions for any deviations.

• Collaborate with Team Leader Beverage and Plastics for production planning, ensuring adherence to weekly/monthly/daily plans.

• Control manpower, identify training needs, and review worker performance.

• Lead, coach, and train a large work team to achieve operational objectives.

• Ensure products' traceability and adherence to quality standards, including ISO certifications.

• Implement quality control programs in coordination with QA department.

• Plan and implement waste management to reduce raw/packaging material wastage.

• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety, health, and environmental regulations.

• Maintain discipline, drive employee motivation, and create a high-performance team and environment.

• Conduct regular inspections, ensure proper upkeep, and coordinate maintenance schedules with the Engineering Team Lead.

• Ensure daily/weekly/monthly preventive maintenance to maintain overall machine effectiveness.

• Monitor product quality, conduct root cause analysis, and initiate corrective actions in coordination with QA.

• Track/plan production material usage and initiate procurement processes in liaison with the Commercial Team Lead.

• Track weekly overall plant operating effectiveness/efficiency and update department heads on areas needing improvement.

• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports for decision-making by top management.

• Participate in the development and monitoring of policies and procedures.

• Initiate measures to reduce breakdowns affecting production from Beverage Lines.

• Initiate cost-saving projects for minimizing utility costs.

• Ensure energy conservation practices, including switching off machines, lights, and computers when not in use.

• Ensure no steam and compressed air leaks within the plant.


Salary: Negotiable based on the Qualification and Experience of the Candidate with an indicative range of Gross kshs. 80,000 to 100,000 per month.
