Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing & preparation of the LSO & LPO: Preparing the Local Purchase Order/Local Service Order for the company- Raising and processing invoices using our ERP system.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
  • Accounts Management: Oversee accounts payable (payments to suppliers, especially for raw material imports) and accounts receivable (debt collection from customers) functions. Preparing requisitions on daily expenses and as per the operation budget- Managing customer credit control, including monitoring overdue accounts and following up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconciliations: Conduct daily bank, petty cash, and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurate and discrepancies are resolved.
  • Taxation and Compliance: Ensure timely preparation and submission of all statutory deductions and tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, SHIF, NSSF, and withholding tax, in compliance with KRA and other financial regulations.
  • Cost and Inventory Analysis: Perform cost analysis, monitor production jobs, analyze margins and variances, and assist with inventory control/management and physical inventories- Monitoring and advising on stock levels using the ERP system- Participating in periodic stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, monitor budget compliance, and provide variance analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Auditing: Coordinate and assist with internal and external financial audits, preparing necessary documentation and acting as a key liaison.
  • Payroll: Process payroll for staff and ensure timely related statutory payments.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and prevent financial misstatement. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Documents filing: Filing of accounting documents and other important documents of the company.
  • Any other duties that maybe assigned by the CEO- Assisting in any other administrative functions of the office as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field (CPA/ACCA/CIMA Part II or Level II).
  • At least 3 years (experience in a manufacturing company would be an added advantage)
  • Proficiency in accounting software & ERPs (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, Sage and ERPs) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with various stakeholders. High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
  • Must be a team player, flexible, proven ability to work independently, assertive, honest, with positive attitude and sensitive.
