Job summary
The Assistant Architect shall support the Project Team in the design, documentation, and coordination of projects.

- Assist in the preparation of architectural designs, concepts, and presentations.
- Support the development of schematic designs, detailed designs, and construction drawings.
- Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, and visualizations as required.
- Assist in design revisions as instructed by the Architect.
- Prepare architectural drawings and documentation using approved software.
- Ensure drawings comply with project requirements, standards, and regulations.
- Maintain proper drawing files, registers and revision records.
- Assist in coordinating architectural information with other consultants, including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
- Incorporate consultant information into architectural drawings.
- Attend coordination meetings when required.
- Record and implement agreed changes.
- Assist in site visits and inspections as required.
- Prepare site visit reports and progress notes.
- Assist in responding to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Verify works on site against drawings where instructed.
- Assist in preparing drawings and documents for statutory approvals.
- Assist in addressing comments from approving authorities.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant building regulations and standards.
- Maintain organized project records and correspondence.
- Assist in document submissions and printing.
- Track drawing issuance and revisions.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations.
- Work under the supervision and direction of the Architect.
- Maintain confidentiality of all project information.
- Adhere to company policies and professional standards.
- Exercise reasonable skill, care, and diligence in the performance of duties.
- Perform any other architectural-related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Architector Employer.
- Diploma or Degree in Architectural Studies, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience working as an Architectural Technician in a professional architectural or multidisciplinary practice.
- Advanced proficiency in Archicad (mandatory), with demonstrable experience in:
- Detailed construction drawings
- 3D modelling and documentation
- Local authority submission drawings
- As-built documentation
- BIM workflow coordination
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing standards.
- Familiarity with local building regulations and approval processes.
- Ability to interpret architectural concepts and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
- Experience coordinating with consultants (structural, MEP, QS, etc.) and interpretation of their drawings/documents.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- High level of professionalism and integrity
- Proficiency in additional software such as visualisation software will be an added advantage.
