3. Assistant Livestock Production Officer (JOB GROUP CPSB 11) (2 POSTS)
The Livestock Production Assistants will be responsible to the Sub-County Livestock Production Officers. They will be Subject Matter Specialists at the Sub-Counties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Assist in the promotion and provision of Livestock extension services such as animalbreeding, Livestock Production and Nutrition, Pasture and Fodder Production and Conservation, Resources Management, Establishment of Livestock Housing & Structures, Livestock Product Value Addition and Clean Milk Production.
ii. Provide the above stated extension services to Farmers through farm visits, Farmers field days, demonstrations, exhibitions and shows.
iii. Assist in the dissemination of new Livestock Production Technologies through Community Mobilization, Sensitization and Capacity Building/Farmers Trainings.
iv. Assist in the implementation of National and County Livestock Programmes at Sub-County Level.
v. Collect Livestock Production information and maintain data base.
vi. Participation in planning budgeting.
vii. Prepare regular and periodic technical reports.
viii. Any other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
i. Must be a Diploma Holder in any of the following disciplines: -
✓ Animal Health and Production
✓ Range Management
✓ Natural Resource Management
✓ Dairy Science and Technology
✓ Agribusiness and Marketing
✓ Agriculture, Education and Extension
✓ Or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution (i.e., Universities AHITIS, DTI Naivasha)
ii. Good Communication Skills
iii. Computer Literate
iv. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
