Key Responsibilities
1. Valuation
○ Carry out inspections of properties and assets and prepare professional valuation reports in a timely manner.
○ Obtain official property searches, maps, and other supporting documents from relevant government bodies.
○ Confirm the purpose of the valuation (sale, mortgage, insurance, financial reporting, forced sale/foreclosure, house allowance, etc.).
○ Ensure compliance with valuation standards and regulatory guidelines (IVS, local regulations, ISK Valuation Standards).
○ Ensure valuation fees are promptly invoiced, collected, and accounted for.
○ Assist in carrying out market surveys and comparative value analysis.
○ Obtain county land values and recent transactions to support valuation conclusions.
○ Compile and verify property information, calculate property and asset values accurately.
○ Advise clients and the sales team with valuation insights to support decision-making.
○ Build and maintain a strong network with other industry professionals and leverage this when conducting valuations in unfamiliar locations
○ Prepare and submit tenders, pre-qualification packs, and applications for inclusion in valuation panels (e.g., banks, insurers).
○ Maintain strict professional integrity, confidentiality, and independence in all valuation assignments.
2. Reporting
○ Draft valuation reports for internal review and client submission.
○ Forward drafts to the Valuation Manager for review and incorporate recommended changes.
○ Maintain records of all reports for audit and future reference.
○ Adopt digital reporting templates and maintain consistency in report formats.
3. Client Service
○ Develop and maintain relationships with clients requiring valuation services.
○ Build strong networks with banks, law firms, insurers, accountants, and other referral partners.
○ Manage caseload efficiently, ensuring timely completion of assignments while prioritising urgent cases.
○ Communicate with clients professionally regarding instructions, feedback, and clarifications.
○ Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in valuation and advisory services.
4. Documentation
○ Receive and verify proper documentation from clients (title deed, instruction letter, ID, approvals, etc.).
○ Ensure inspection notes (photos, sketches, measurements, specifications) are properly documented.
○ File all valuation and supporting documents securely, both in physical and electronic formats (photos, maps, reports, titles, searches, plans, etc.).
○ Ensure compliance with company document retention and data protection policies.
5. Research & Advisory
○ Conduct market research and produce periodic reports on property trends.
○ Contribute to in-house knowledge sharing and provide updates on market
developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.
6. Other
○ Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director or COO.
○ Participate in professional training, CPD programmes, and industry forums to maintain membership and keep skills updated.
