Job Description/Requirements
Position Overview
The Electronic Board Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and optimization of electronic circuit boards used in company products. This role requires strong PCB design skills, hands-on experience with electronic hardware, and the ability to lead and mentor an assembly/production team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, innovative, and able to manage projects from concept to final deployment.
Key Responsibilities
1. PCB Design & Development
Design multi-layer PCB boards using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle, EasyEDA).
Create schematics, component libraries, and board layouts.
Perform simulations, signal integrity checks, and design validation.
Select electronic components based on cost, performance, and availability.
Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure boards meet production and quality requirements.
Develop prototypes and conduct hardware debugging and optimization.
2. Hardware Engineering
Build, test, and refine electronic circuits and embedded systems.
Perform diagnostics on boards, firmware loading, and bench testing.
Work with microcontrollers, sensors, RF modules, power systems, and communication interfaces.
3. Production & Assembly Leadership
Lead a small team of assembly technicians during the production of electronic units.
Prepare assembly procedures, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and QC checklists.
Oversee soldering, board population, wiring, enclosure installation, and final unit assembly.
Ensure compliance with production standards, safety guidelines, and quality assurance processes.
Train and mentor new technicians on equipment usage and assembly best practices.
4. Project Management
Plan engineering tasks and manage timelines from design to delivery.
Prepare documentation including design files, test reports, user manuals, and assembly guides.
Collaborate with other departments (software, mechanical, procurement, field teams).
Provide technical support during installations and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in PCB design or hardware development are an added advantage.
Experience
2–5 years experience in PCB design and hardware development.
Hands-on experience assembling electronic units and supervising technical teams.
Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-A-610, ISO procedures, and ESD handling.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, etc.).
Strong soldering skills and knowledge of SMT & THT assembly processes.
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings.
Knowledge of firmware programming (Arduino, ESP32, STM32) is an added plus.
Understanding of communication protocols such as UART, I²C, SPI, CAN, RS485, etc.
