Software Engineer in Support

Celcom Africa Ltd is seeking a talented and passionate Software Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance applications and contributing to the development of innovative digital solutions that drive business growth.

You will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy modern software systems.

Key Responsibilities

·        Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications.

·        Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following industry best practices.

·        Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.

·        Integrate and manage APIs and third-party services.

·        Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing software systems.

·        Collaborate with product, operations, and engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions.

·        Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

·        Support system deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.

Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

·        Strong experience in software development and modern programming languages (such as Java, Go, PHP).

·        Experience working with APIs, databases, and web technologies.

·        Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.

·        Understanding of Agile development practices and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

·        Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·        Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Added Advantage

·        Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps tools, or container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

·        Knowledge of micro services architecture or modern web frameworks.
