4. Livestock Production Assistants (JOB GROUP CPSB 12) (2 POSTS)
The Livestock Production Assistants will be responsible to the Sub-County Livestock Production Officers. They will be Technical Livestock Extension Officers at the Wards in the Sub-Counties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Assist in the promotion and provision of Livestock extension services such as Animal Breeding, Livestock Production &Nutrition, Pasture &Fodder Production and Conservation, Resources Management, Constructions of Livestock Housing &Structures, Livestock product Value Addition and Clean Milk.
ii.Provide the above stated extension services to Farmers through farm visits. Fainters Community Mobilization, Sensitization and Capacity Building/Farmers Trainings.
iii. Assist in the dissemination of new Livestock Production Technologies through Community Mobilization, Sensitization and Capacity Building/Farmers Trainings.
iv. Assist in the implementation of National and County Livestock Programmes at Ward Level.
v. Collect Livestock production information and maintain data base
vi. Participation in planning and budgeting
vii. Prepare regular and periodic technical reports.
viii. Any other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
i. A two (2) year Certificate Course in any of the following Discipline:
✓ Animal Health and Production.
✓ Range Management.
✓ Natural Resource Management.
✓ Dairy Science and Technology.
✓ Agribusiness and Marketing.
✓ Or any other relevant qualification from a recognized Institution (i.e., Universities AHITIS, DTI Naivasha)
ii. Good Communication Skills.
iii. Computer Literate.
iv. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
