Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Operate oil extraction, filtration machines as assigned.
- Start up and shut down machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor machine performance during production.
- Adjust machine settings to maintain optimal efficiency.
Production Monitoring
- Ensure continuous production flow during shift.
- Record production output and report any variances.
- Monitor oil quality parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rate where applicable).
Quality Control
- Ensure products meet quality and food safety standards.
- Report any contamination, abnormal smell, leakage, or machine faults immediately.
- Work closely with Quality Control team during inspections.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Perform basic preventive maintenance checks.
- Clean machines and surrounding area after production.
- Report mechanical breakdowns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene standards (especially food-grade environment).
Safety Compliance
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
- Use PPE correctly.
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Participate in safety briefings.
Working Conditions
- 12-hour shift (4 days on, 3 days off cycle).
- Work in production environment with machinery
Qualifications & Requirements
- KCSE Certificate (minimum).
- Technical training in mechanical/industrial operations is an added advantage.
- Experience in food processing, avocado oil or manufacturing plant preferred.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to work on shifts.
