Level Master’s Degree with a CPA K
Field(s) Business Management/ Business Administration with a Major in finance/Accounting
Experience Preference will be given to those with experience in Finance Management in Non-Governmental organization
Location Based in Nairobi
Duties and responsibilities
1. Conduct financial analysis, budget monitoring, and forecasting to support project and management in achieving goals and objectives.
2. Assist in preparing accurate financial reports, budgets, and commentaries in compliance with donor reporting requirements.
3. Support the implementation of project financial policies and procedures to ensure adherence to donor and organizational guidelines.
4. Monitor project bank reconciliations, manage exchange rate negotiations, and resolve outstanding banking issues.
5. Collaborate with project staff to ensure project activities are effectively tracked, monitored, and reported.
6. Participate in annual external and project audits to ensure compliance with donor and audit standards.
7. Develop, document, and implement improvements to project accounting policies, internal controls, and training materials.
8. Help departments set realistic financial targets and allocate resources efficiently
9. Prepare management reports highlighting trends, performance gaps, and recommendations
10. Produce internal financial statements (management accounts) for decision-making
11. Provide additional financial support activities as directed by the Program Officer – Finance.
Requisite Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
· Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
· Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role.
· Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or non-profit sectors is an added advantage.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ERP systems) and Excel.
· Excellent understanding of budgeting, cost accounting, and financial analysis techniques.
· Attention to detail, accuracy, and high ethical standards.
· Effective communication and presentation skills
Contract duration The selected candidate will be offered a three year renewable employment contract with possibility of extension.
