RESEARCH ASSISTANT JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing research activities for this study. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and tagging chatbot transcripts from enrolled chatbot users and will assist in the smooth execution of the study’s day-to-day activities. He/she will directly report to the Study coordinator
SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular reviews of user transcripts in accordance with the study Standard Operating Procedures and the research protocol (SOPs)
- Accurately tag and classify user transcripts as outlined in the study SOP and protocol guidelines
- Monitor and review data to ensure adherence to safety standards and identify any potential risks
- Reviewing chatbot-generated email crisis alerts to identify impeding crisis, adverse events and severe adverse events (SAEs), and escalate as required
- Support ongoing data collection activities to ensure completeness and quality of study data
- Ensure all participant data collected is accurate, complete, securely handled, and stored in accordance with study SOPs, good clinical practice (GCP) and confidentiality stipulations.
- Ensure that the study participants receive all the required research procedures in line with the research protocol
- Monitor and support participant adherence to study procedures and requirements
- Maintain compliance with all study SOPs throughout the study procedures
- Prepare and submit weekly transcript review reports, providing timely updates to the Study coordinator and the PI.
Essential requirements:
- Must have a Diploma in Community Health, Nursing, Social Work or Counselling Psychology from a recognized institution.
- Must be Fluent in English, Kiswahili (common languages among our research participants)
- Must have at least two (2) years of research experience.
- Should have excellent computer skills
- MUST have certificate in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection valid for the next 12 months of the date of this advert
- Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate regularly with the study coordinator physically, and via email and Zoom.
- Team player with the ability to work closely with other study staff at the site
