Job Title: Accountant
Reports To: Managing Partner
Location: Kiambu Road
Gross Salary: KSh 50,000
Client Overview: An outsourced accounting and bookkeeping services company provides comprehensive financial management solutions to businesses of all sizes. By handling day-to-day accounting operations and complex financial processes, the company enables clients to focus on core business activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial transparency.
Job Purpose: The accountant will support bookkeeping and payroll functions for Pecuniary Support’s clients, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Record, organise, and manage customer invoices and receipts accurately and efficiently.
- Investigate and resolve client billing and payment issues.
- Verify and post business transactions into the accounting system.
- Prepare and maintain accounting statements and schedules.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of revenues, bank accounts, and cash transactions.
- Generate management reports, including expense, revenue, and trial balance reports.
- Process payroll and file statutory returns (PAYE, VAT, NSSF, NHIF, HELB, Catering Levy, MRI, and other applicable taxes).
- Raise petty cash vouchers and process payments.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring activities.
- Participate in month-end closing and reporting processes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions, including posting client invoices.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of client bank accounts and financial data.
- Support client audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries.
- Utilize digital and cloud-based applications (e.g., OneDrive) to manage outsourced scopes and remote assignments
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field is an added advantage.
- CPA is an added advantage
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping and payroll.
- Proficiency in accounting software(QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho & Sage) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with cloud-based tools and remote collaboration platforms is an added advantage.
