Job Summary
We are an organization located in a rural environment 60kms from Kericho town consisting of tea estates and two highly automated tea factories. We have an innovative approach to the growing and manufacture of black tea and pride ourselves in the quality of our personnel and our productivity. We are seeking a suitable applicant for the position of Compliance Officer.

Job Description/Requirements
- Developing and implementing compliance programs: This involves creating policies, procedures, and training materials to ensure everyone in the company understands and follows the rules.
- Monitoring compliance: Regularly checking to make sure the company is adhering to all regulations and internal policies through audits, reviews, and data analysis.
- Coordinating and implementing rainforest Alliance standards
- Coordinating SMETA , ISO and Global gap standards
- Following up with customer feedback/audits to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Follow-Up with customer surveys particularly regarding compliance-related issues.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all required permits (e.g. environmental permits, operating permits, licenses).
- Track permit expiration dates and initiate renewal processes well in advance of deadlines.
- Assist in the development and implementation of EHS programs
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments: Identifies potential hazards and recommends corrective actions an ensure they are closed in a timely manner
- Maintain EHS records and documentation
- Assist in developing and providing safety trainings to employees
- Assist in Investigating incidents: Determines root causes, recommends preventive measures and follow up to ensure its implementation
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a safety-conscious culture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts: Identifies opportunities to enhance EHS programs and performance.
- Assist in monitoring EHS performance and writing weekly and monthly reports
- Assist in carrying out EHS awareness
- Perform other duties assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health, Environmental Science or any relevant course from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in workplace environmental, health and safety program management.
- Knowledge on OHS regulations and standards.
- Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Certification in Occupational Safety and Health will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of rainforest Alliance standards , global gap/ smeta is an added advantage
