Job Summary
The Declaration Clerk will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of customs documentation and declarations for imports and exports in compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. The role requires keen attention to detail, strong knowledge of customs procedures, and hands-on experience with relevant systems and shipping line processes.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare and process customs entries and declarations for all CPC codes in accordance with KRA and EAC customs regulations.
● Ensure accuracy and compliance in all documentation for import and export consignments.
● Liaise with clients, shipping lines, and clearing agents to ensure efficient cargo clearance and timely release.
● Handle documentation for shipping lines and coordinate processing of manifests and bills of lading.
● Verify accuracy of tariff classifications, valuation, and duty/tax calculations.
● Ensure timely submission of customs entries through ICMS and other digital systems.
● Maintain proper filing and record-keeping of all clearance documentation.
● Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
● Monitor declaration timelines and proactively resolve any customs-related issues.
● Uphold company values of integrity, teamwork, and results orientation in all duties.
Qualifications & Experience
● Diploma in Clearing and Freight Forwarding or a related field.
● EACFFPC Training Certificate (KESRA) – mandatory.
● ICMS Training – required.
● KenTrade / TFB Training – required.
● Experience: 2–10 years of proven experience in customs declaration, clearing, and forwarding operations.
● Comprehensive understanding of all CPC codes and customs processes.
● Demonstrated experience in shipping line documentation and processes.
