ACCOUNTANT

Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Assistant to join our team at our building hardware shop. The Financial Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of financial and accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, payroll processing, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a passion for accuracy and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

● Record and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries

● Process customer payments and vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner

● Reconcile bank statements and ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly

● Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing financial statements and reports

● Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement

● Assist with budget preparation and monitor actual vs. budget performance

● Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations

● Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis

● Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

● Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a retail or hardware environment

● Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

● Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team

● Familiarity with QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus
