FTTX SUPERVISOR
Job summary
The FTTX Supervisor will oversee the planning, deployment, and quality assurance of Fiber-to-the-X (FTTH/FTTB/FTTC) network installation projects, supervising field teams and subcontractors to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality delivery of fiber optic infrastructure in line with client and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily FTTX field installation activities, including fiber cable laying (aerial, underground, and in-building), splicing, and termination.
Plan and allocate daily/weekly work schedules for field teams and subcontractors to meet project timelines.
Conduct quality checks on completed works, including OTDR/light-level testing, splice quality, and cable routing, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
Ensure field teams comply with EHS requirements, wear appropriate PPE, and follow safe work practices on site.
Coordinate with the design/planning team to resolve site discrepancies and implement As-Built documentation updates.
Monitor and manage project materials, tools, and equipment usage at site level, minimizing wastage and loss.
Liaise with local authorities, landlords, and communities to obtain wayleaves and resolve site access issues.
Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports, including completion rates, challenges, and site photos/evidence.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during installation and testing phases, escalating complex faults as needed.
Supervise and mentor field technicians, riggers, and splicers, ensuring skills development and adherence to standards.
Support customer/subscriber connections (drop cable installation, ONT/CPE setup) ensuring high service quality.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3–4 years' hands-on experience in FTTX network deployment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
Proficiency in fiber optic splicing, OTDR testing, and use of related tools and test equipment.
Sound understanding of GPON/FTTH network architecture and civil works related to fiber deployment.
Experience managing field teams and subcontractors on fast-paced rollout projects.
Valid driving license required.
